Walk In Our Shoes is a walking tour curated and guided by Territory Urban Design Team. Our first tour featured “places of opportunity” in Albany Park, as seen through the eyes of the young people who live or go to school in this neighborhood. For adults, the tour is an opportunity to experience Chicago as a teenager.

During the design of the tour, young people develop terms for public spaces that accommodate their unique needs. Our team has developed a vocabulary for urban planning including “Free-Spirited,” “Sanctuary” and “Social” spaces. By taking ownership of the vocabulary of urban design, young people own the conversation about public space, and shift the design of cities to include our needs.
